Small Town Snapshot Sunday- Middlebury, IN

For this weeks Small Town Snaphot Sunday, I want to introduce everyone to a small town in Indiana, called Middlebury. The pictures you will see are from the "hot spot" in Middlebury. This town is nestled in Amish Country, and this restaurant draws people from all over. It's a family style, Amish cooking kind of place. There is also a gift shop, and a country bakery. There are a couple other buildings on the property where you can explore the simpler life. The food is amazingly good, and the service is always friendly. The name of the restaurant is Essenhaus, and if you are ever in Middlebury, IN, I highly recommend trying it.. Yummy! It's always been a family favorite of my side of the family. Be careful of the buggies though :-)!

My little Lillian enjoying her meal. The food is delicious for all ages!

I hope you enjoyed my small town for this week. I know I did, and now I'm hungry! Don't forget to join Wendy, On the Front Porch, for more Small Town snapshots.

  3. This reminds me of a place I visited in California called Solvang. Cool place.

  4. Thanks for visiting my blog and leaving a comment. We have an Amish community about 30 miles north, Yoder. They have a big restaurant there that has been very popular for many years. I haven't visited it in a long time though. Food is one thing the Amish do excedingly well. For the women, food is another name for love. :) My Mennonite relation had many of the same recipes but not quite the same "devotion" (for cooking).
